The Standing Committee on Health met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Joy Smith, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Kelly Block, Patrick Brown, Colin Carrie, Libby Davies, Matthew Kellway, Wladyslaw Lizon, Ben Lobb, Dany Morin, Djaouida Sellah, Joy Smith and David Wilks.

 

Acting Members present: Massimo Pacetti for Hon. Hedy Fry and Bob Zimmer for David Wilks.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Martha Butler, Analyst; Karin Phillips, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Princess Margaret Cancer Centre: David Jaffray, Head, Radiation Physics Department. As individuals: Jeffrey Hoch, Director, Cancer Care Ontario; Adam Holbrook, Associate Director, Centre for Policy Research on Science and Technology, Simon Fraser University; Pascale Lehoux, Researcher, Full Professor, Department of Health Administration, Université de Montréal.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 9, 2012, the Committee resumed its study of technological innovation.
 

Pascale Lehoux, David Jaffray, Jeffrey Hoch and Adam Holbrook made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:17 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:19 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee continue the study of technological innovation, including best practices, in health care in Canada, as of Tuesday, March 19, 2013.

 

At 5:24 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
