The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development met at 8:45 a.m. this day, in Room 306, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, Lois Brown, Paul Dewar, Nina Grewal, Hélène Laverdière, Ève Péclet, Gary Ralph Schellenberger and Dave Van Kesteren.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Mark Eyking for Hon. Dominic LeBlanc, Wladyslaw Lizon for John Williamson, Deepak Obhrai for Bob Dechert and Jean Rousseau for Romeo Saganash.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Allison Goody, Analyst; James Lee, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Mr. Julian Fantino, P.C., M.P., Minister of International Cooperation.

 

Witnesses: Canadian International Development Agency: Greta Bossenmaier, Senior Executive Vice-President; Sue Stimpson, Chief Financial Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (B) 2012-2013: Votes 1b, 5b, 10b, 15b, 30b, L35b, L40b and 45b under FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE referred to the Committee on Thursday, November 8, 2012.
 

The Chair called Vote 1b under FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE.

 

The Minister made a statement and, with Sue Stimpson, answered questions.

 

The Minister made a closing statement.

 

By unanimous consent, votes 1b, 5b, 10b, 15b, 30b, L35b, L40b and 45b under FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Votes 1b, 5b, 10b, 15b, 30b, L35b, L40b and 45b under FOREIGN AFFAIRS AND INTERNATIONAL TRADE to the House.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 9:50 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 9:53 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 

It was agreed, — That a proposed budget in the amount of $27,800, for the study of Canada's Arctic Foreign Policy, be adopted.

 

At 10:06 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
