The Standing Committee on International Trade met at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, the Hon. Rob Merrifield, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Ron Cannan, Raymond Côté, Hon. Wayne Easter, Russ Hiebert, Ed Holder, Gerald Keddy, Brian Masse, Hon. Rob Merrifield, Ève Péclet, Mathieu Ravignat, Bev Shipley and Devinder Shory.

 

Acting Members present: Dan Albas for Devinder Shory.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Chief, Macroeconomics and Trade; Alexandre Gauthier, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: European Union Chamber of Commerce in Toronto (EUCOCIT): Anders Fisker, Chair, Danish Canadian Chamber of Commerce, EUCOCIT Board Director representing Denmark. ARKTOS Developments Ltd: Bruce Seligman, President, Domestic Sales (Canada). Council of Canadians: Stuart Trew, Trade Campaigner. As an individual: Ian Lee, Assistant Professor, Strategic Management and International Business, Sprott School of Business, Carleton University.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of the Comprehensive Economic and Trade Agreement (CETA) with the European Union.
 

Anders Fisker and Bruce Seligman made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:02 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Stuart Trew and Ian Lee made statements and answered questions.

 

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
