The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 8:48 a.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen Street, the Vice-Chair, Pierre Nantel, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Scott Armstrong, Tyrone Benskin, Marjolaine Boutin-Sweet, Gordon Brown, Paul Calandra, Andrew Cash, Parm Gill, Jim Hillyer, Pierre Nantel and Scott Simms.

 

Acting Members present: Mike Allen for Hon. Rob Moore, Ryan Leef for Hon. Rob Moore and Wai Young for Terence Young.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michael Dewing, Analyst; Marion Ménard, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Glenn Gould Foundation: Clelia Farrugia, Director of Development; Brian Levine, Executive Director. As individuals: Robynne Rogers Healey, Associate Professor of History, Department of History, Political and International Studies, Trinity Western University; William Thorsell, Consultant.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, September 27, 2011, the Committee resumed its study of Canada's 150th anniversary in 2017.
 

Brian Levine, William Thorsell and Robynne Rogers Healey made statements and, with Clelia Farrugia, answered questions.

 

Paul Calandra moved, — That the Committee proceed to sit in camera.

 

The question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 6; NAYS: 4.

 

At 10:49 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:49 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 

At 10:50 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
