The Standing Committee on National Defence met at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, the Hon. Maxime Bernier, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Hon. Maxime Bernier, Ray Boughen, Peter Braid, Cheryl Gallant, Jack Harris, Hon. Laurie Hawn, Hon. Dominic LeBlanc, LaVar Payne and Hon. Bryon Wilfert.

 

Acting Members present: France Bonsant for Pascal-Pierre Paillé, Glen Douglas Pearson for Marcel Proulx and John Weston for Cheryl Gallant.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Wolfgang Koerner, Analyst; Melissa Radford, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Handling Specialty Manufacturing Ltd.: Thomas Beach, President, Head Office. Composites Atlantic Limited: Maurice Guitton, President and Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Sales Office. Héroux-Devtek Inc.: Gilles Labbé, President and Chief Executive Officer , Corporate.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, August 25, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of the next generation of fighter aircraft.
 

Gilles Labbé, Thomas Beach and Maurice Guitton made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:59 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:04 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Claude Bachand moved, — That the Tuesday December 14 period of the Standing Committee on National Defence be planned as follows: 1. Meeting of the Subcommittee on the Agenda and Procedure from 3:30 p.m. to 4:30 p.m.; 2. Meeting of the Standing Committee on National Defence from 4:30 p.m. to 5:30 p.m for the purpose of Committee Business.

Debate arose thereon.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to.

 

At 5:18 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
