The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills and Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 11:14 a.m. this day, in Room 8-53, 131 Queen St., the Chair, Candice Hoeppner, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Rick Casson, Raymonde Folco, Candice Hoeppner, Ed Komarnicki, Yves Lessard, Tony Martin, Hon. Maria Minna, Michael John Savage, Maurice Vellacott, Jeff Watson and Alice Wong.

 

Acting Members present: France Bonsant for Josée Beaudin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Chantal Collin, Analyst; Sandra Gruescu, Analyst; André Léonard, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, March 17, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of the Federal Contribution to Reducing Poverty in Canada.
 

At 11:59 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:05 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

It was agreed, — That the draft report, as amended, be adopted.

 

It was agreed, — That the report be entitled: “Federal Poverty Reduction Plan: working in partnership toward reducing poverty in Canada”.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair, Clerk and analyst be authorized to make such grammatical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the Government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee append to its report supplementary opinions from the Conservatives, Liberals and Bloc Québécois provided that they are no more than four pages in length and submitted electronically in both official languages to the Clerk of the Committee, no later than 5:00 p.m., on Tuesday, October 26, 2010.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair present the report to the House.

 

At 12:24 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
