The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Development met at 11:07 a.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Jim Abbott, Dean Allison, Johanne Deschamps, Paul Dewar, Peter Goldring, James Lunney, Deepak Obhrai, Bernard Patry, Glen Douglas Pearson, Hon. Bob Rae and Dave Van Kesteren.

 

Acting Members present: Jean Dorion for Francine Lalonde and Irene Mathyssen for Paul Dewar.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Andrew Lauzon. Library of Parliament: Allison Goody.

 

Witnesses: Embassy of Burkina Faso: Juliette Bonkoungou, Ambassador. National Assembly of Burkina Faso: H.E. Alain Bédouma Yoda; Assieta Boly; Inoussa Ouiminga; Yolande Kalwoulé; Flavien I. William Nezien. Agir Ensemble pour la Paix au Congo: Lievin Mudi Wa Mbuji Kabeya; Alfred Lukhanda; Marc Kapenda; Jean M'P Ania Pene Membele; Talent Bin Hangi; Albert Teuwen.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee met with the Minister of Foreign Affairs and Regional Cooperation for Burkina Faso.
 

Alain Bédouma Yoda made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 12:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:07 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee met with representatives of Agir Ensemble pour la Paix au Congo.
 

Lievin Mudi Wa Mbuji Kabeya made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 12:56 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
