The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met by videoconference at 3:38 p.m. this day, in Room 7-52, 131 Queen Street, the Chair, Gary Ralph Schellenberger, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Guy André, Kirsty Duncan, Greg Kerr, Kevin Lamoureux, Ben Lobb, Colin Mayes, Phil McColeman, Gary Ralph Schellenberger, Hon. Judy Sgro, Brian Storseth and Robert Vincent.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Rodrigue Paré, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Defence (AUS): LCol Andrew Cohn, Assistant Director, Mental Health Education and Training, Mental Health, Psychology and Rehabilitation Branch, Directorate of Mental Health Clinical Programs and Standards.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) the Committee resumed its study of combat stress and its consequences on the mental health of Veterans and their family.
 

LCol Andrew Cohn, by videoconference from Canberra, Australia, made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 4:51 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:54 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the Minister of Veterans Affairs to appear on the Supplementary Estimates (C) for the fiscal year ending March 31, 2011, on Monday, March 7, Wednesday, March 9 or Monday, March 21, 2011, depending on the Minister's availability.

 

At 5:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
