The Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development met at 3:28 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Bruce Stanton, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Larry Bagnell, Rob Clarke, Jean Crowder, Earl Dreeshen, John Duncan, Marc Lemay, Yvon Lévesque, LaVar Payne, Greg Rickford, Todd Norman Russell and Bruce Stanton.

 

Acting Members present: Dennis Bevington for Jean Crowder and Alexandra Mendes for Hon. Anita Neville.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Tonina Simeone, Analyst; James Gauthier, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Assembly of First Nations: Chief Bill Erasmus, Regional Chief; Joseph Williams, Elder. Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Sheila Fraser, Auditor General of Canada; Ronnie Campbell, Assistant Auditor General; Frank Barrett, Principal; Scott Vaughan, Commissioner of the Environment and Sustainable Development.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, March 25, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of the Aboriginal Healing Foundation.
 

On motion of Todd Norman Russell, it was agreed, — That the proposed budget in the amount of $ 13 400, for the study on the Aboriginal Healing Foundation, be adopted.

 

Chief Bill Erasmus and Joseph Williams made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:28 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:34 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, March 25, 2010, the Committee resumed its study of Northern Territories Economic Development: Barriers and Solutions.
 

Sheila Fraser, Ronnie Campbell, Frank Barrett and Scott Vaughan made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:28 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
