The Standing Committee on Transport, Infrastructure and Communities met at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Merv C. Tweed, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dennis Bevington, Lois Brown, Sukh Dhaliwal, Roger Gaudet, Candice Hoeppner, Brian Jean, Gerard Kennedy, Mario Laframboise, Colin Mayes, Merv C. Tweed and Jeff Watson.

 

Acting Members present: Raymonde Folco for Hon. Joseph Volpe and Massimo Pacetti for Hon. Joseph Volpe.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: John Christopher, Analyst; Allison Padova, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: NAV CANADA: John W. Crichton, President and Chief Executive Officer, Head Office; Rudy Kellar, Vice-President, Operations; Larry Lachance, Assistant Vice-President , Operational Support, Operations. Canadian Urban Transit Association: Michael W. Roschlau, President and Chief Executive Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, February 24, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of NAV CANADA's airport traffic services.
 

John W. Crichton made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 4:28 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:31 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday April 2, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of high speed rail in Canada.
 

Michael W. Roschlau made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 5:18 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:21 p.m., the Committee resumed sitting in camera.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
