The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Leon Benoit, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, Hon. Navdeep Bains, Leon Benoit, France Bonsant, Paule Brunelle, Nathan Cullen, Russ Hiebert, Hon. Geoff Regan, Devinder Shory, Alan Tonks and Bradley R. Trost.

 

Acting Members present: Ray Boughen for David Anderson.

 

Associate Members present: Cheryl Gallant and Bruce Hyer.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Analyst; Mohamed Zakzouk, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Canada Green Building Council: Thomas Mueller, President and Chief Executive Officer. Federation of Canadian Municipalities: Eamonn Horan-Lunney, Manager, Intergovernmental Relations; Andrew Cowan, Senior Manager, Knowledge Management Unit.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 12, 2009, the Committee resumed its study on the contribution of integrated approaches for providing energy services in Canadian communities.
 

On motion of Mike Allen, it was agreed, — That the Clerk of the Committee contact the representatives from BC Hydro, who appeared before the Committee on March 5, 2009, in order for them to provide the Committee with examples of small communities that had proven experiences of integrated approaches for providing energy services.

 

Thomas Mueller and Eamonn Horan-Lunney made statements and, with the other witness, answered questions.

 

At 5:17 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
