The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met by videoconference at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 214, Wellington Building, the Chair, Leon Benoit, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, David Anderson, Leon Benoit, France Bonsant, Paule Brunelle, Nathan Cullen, Russ Hiebert, Hon. Geoff Regan, Devinder Shory, Alan Tonks and Bradley R. Trost.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Larry Bagnell for Hon. Navdeep Bains and Bob Dechert for Devinder Shory.

 

Associate Members present: Bruce Hyer.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Mohamed Zakzouk, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: As an individual: Alan Meier, Associate Director, Energy Efficiency Centre at University of California, Davis, and Senior Scientist, Lawrence Berkeley National Laboratory. Blue Green Alliance: David Foster, Executive Director.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

Geoff Regan moved, — That the scheduled meeting on Thursday, April 23, 2009 at 3:30 p.m. with the Minister be cancelled.

 

The question was put on the motion and the result of the vote was announced: YEAS: 5; NAYS: 5.

Whereupon, the Chair voted in the negative.

Accordingly, the motion was negatived.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 12, 2009, the Committee resumed its study on the contribution of integrated approaches for providing energy services in Canadian communities.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
