The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met by videoconference at 11:10 a.m. this day, in Room 214, Wellington Building, the Chair, Derek Lee, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Rob Anders, Diane Bourgeois, Patrick Brown, Paul Calandra, Jacques Gourde, Martha Hall Findlay, Derek Lee, Pat Martin, Jean-Yves Roy and Chris Warkentin.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Larry Bagnell for Hon. Dan McTeague.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lydia Scratch, Analyst; Hughes Létourneau, Intern.

 

Witnesses: Information Technology Association of Canada: Louis Savoie, Chair, Public Sector Business Committee; Hicham Adra, Member of the Executive Committee , Public Sector Business Committee; Linda Oliver, Vice-President. Association of Canadian Engineering Companies: John Gamble, President, Consulting Engineers of Ontario; Andrew Steeves, Vice-President, ADI Limited. Nanaimo Shipyard Group: Ron van Wachem, President.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(c) and the motions adopted by the Committee on Thursday, February 5 and Tuesday February 10, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of the federal government's procurement processes.
 

Linda Oliver, Hicham Adra, Louis Savoie, John Gamble and Andrew Steeves made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:44 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:51 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Ron van Wachem made a statement and answered questions by videoconference from Nanaimo, British Columbia.

 

At 1:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
