The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Vice-Chair, Anthony Rota, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Gordon Brown, Siobhan Coady, Marc Garneau, Mike Lake, Anthony Rota, Dave Van Kesteren and Chris Warkentin.

 

Acting Members present: Ron Cannan for Mike Wallace and David Sweet for Hon. Michael D. Chong.

 

Associate Members present: Hon. Navdeep Bains.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Analyst; Dillan Theckedath, Analyst.

 

Appearing: Hon. Diane Ablonczy, P.C., M.P., Minister of State (Small Business and Tourism).

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, November 2, 2009, the Committee commenced its study of the recent economic performance of the services sector in Canada.
 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Monday, November 2, 2009, the Committee resumed its study of the recent economic performance of small and medium-size enterprises in Canada.
 

Hon. Diane Ablonczy made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 4:42 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:44 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Pierre Coulombe made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

 

At 5:29 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
