The Standing Committee on Veterans Affairs met by videoconference at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 214, Wellington Building, the Chair, David Sweet, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Guy André, Rob Clarke, Judy Foote, Roger Gaudet, Greg Kerr, Ben Lobb, Phil McColeman, Tilly O'Neill-Gordon, Peter Stoffer and David Sweet.

 

Acting Members present: Sukh Dhaliwal for Hon. Judy Sgro and Kirsty Duncan for Scott Andrews.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: United States Department of Veterans Affairs: Gail Graham, Deputy Chief Officer, Health Information Management, Veterans Health Administration.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 9, 2009, the Committee resumed its comparison study of veterans services offered by members of the Commonwealth and the G8.
 

Gail Graham made a statement and answered questions.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee invite the President of Sainte Anne Veterans Association and Magalie Picard, Vice-President of the Quebec Public Service Alliance of Veterans Affairs to a working lunch, on April 1, 2009 at Sainte Anne Hospital.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee consider inviting James Cotter and the Canadian Radar History Group as witnesses after it completes its study on Veterans Services offered by members of the Commonwealth and the G8.

 

At 5:08 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
