The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Diane Marleau, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Charlie Angus, Diane Bourgeois, Patrick Brown, Mark Holland, Daryl Kramp, Hon. Diane Marleau, Richard Nadeau, Mario Silva and Chris Warkentin.

 

Acting Members present: David Sweet for James Moore.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Guy Beaumier, Analyst; Philippe Le Goff, Analyst. House of Commons: Christine Lafrance, Procedural Clerk.

 

Witnesses: Public Service Alliance of Canada: Patricia Ducharme, National Executive Vice-President. Informetrica: Michael C. McCracken, Chairman and Chief Executive Officer.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) the Committee commenced its study of the Federal Government's Real Estate Plan.
 

Patricia Ducharme and Michael C. McCracken made a statement and answered questions.

 

Charlie Angus moved, — That the Committee call on the Minister of Public Works to immediately release to the Committee the confidential information memorandum for the sale of federal buildings to bidders that outlines operating expenses, taxes, management fees, parking income and detailed schedule of capital improvements.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and it was agreed to, by a show of hands: YEAS: 6; NAYS: 1.

 

Daryl Kramp moved, — That this Committee invite representatives from Deutsche Bank, BMO and RBC to respond to the claims by Mr. McCracken.

 

After debate, the question was put on the motion and the result of the vote was announced: YEAS: 5; NAYS: 5.

Whereupon, the Chair voted in the affirmative.

Accordingly, the motion was agreed to.

 

At 5:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
