The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in a televised session at 9:03 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Hon. Diane Marleau, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Harold Albrecht, Charlie Angus, Diane Bourgeois, Patrick Brown, Meili Faille, Daryl Kramp, Hon. Diane Marleau, James Moore and Mario Silva.

 

Acting Members present: Hon. Larry Bagnell for Raymonde Folco, Hon. Navdeep Bains for Mark Holland and Rob Clarke for Chris Warkentin.

 

In attendance: House of Commons: Jean-François Pagé, Procedural Clerk. Library of Parliament: Philippe Le Goff, Analyst; Mathieu Stanton, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Privy Council Office: Kevin G. Lynch, Clerk of the Privy Council and Secretary to the Cabinet; Yvan Roy, Deputy Secretary to the Cabinet, Legislation and House Planning and Machinery of Government and Counsel to the Clerk of the Privy Council; Marc Tardif, Director, Security Operations; Gary Pinder, Executive Director, Informatics and Technical Services Division. Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on June 17, 2008, the Committee commenced its study of the "Report on the Investigation Into Unauthorized Disclosure of Sensitive Diplomatic Information".
 

Kevin G. Lynch made a statement and, with Marc Tardif, Patrick Cummins, Yvan Roy, Allan Bird and Paul Meyer, answered questions.

 

At 10:38 a.m., by unanimous consent and pursuant to Standing Order 115(5), it was agreed that the Committee continue to sit for a few more minutes.

 

At 10:50 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:24 a.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Ian Brodie made a statement and answered questions.

 

At 12:08 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
