The Standing Committee on National Defence met in camera at 3:34 p.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Rick Casson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Dawn Black, Steven Blaney, Robert Bouchard, Rick Casson, Cheryl Gallant, Laurie Hawn, Hon. Joe McGuire, Anthony Rota and Hon. Bryon Wilfert.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: James Cox, Analyst; Wolf Koerner, Analyst. House of Commons: Robert Hoffman, Administration and Logistic Officer.

 

Witnesses: As individuals: Audra Franklin; Paul Franklin; Jesse Larochelle; Randall Larochelle.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Tuesday, November 20, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of health services provided to Canadian Forces personnel with an emphasis on post-traumatic stress disorder.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:11 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 5:16 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That, in relation to its study of Health services provided to CF personnel with an emphasis on post-traumatic stress disorder, the Committee invite the following witnesses:

• General Rick Hillier, Chief of the Defence Staff;

• Three Base Surgeons from Canadian Forces Bases in Petawawa, Edmonton, and Valcartier;

• LGen Andrew Leslie, Chief of the Land Staff;

• Vice Admiral Drew Robertson, Chief of Maritime Staff;

• LGen Angus Watt, Chief of the Air Staff;

• Chief of Reserves and Environmental Reserve Advisors;

• Roméo Dallaire;

• Fred Doucette;

• Greg Passey;

• Kent Carswell;

• Chris Clark.

 

At 5:38 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
