The Subcommittee on the Review of the Anti-terrorism Act of the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security met at 11:03 a.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block.

 

Members of the Subcommittee present: Gord Brown, Joe Comartin, Hon. Roy Cullen, Dave MacKenzie, Serge Ménard, Rick Norlock and Tom Wappel.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Philip Rosen, Analyst. House of Commons: Samy Agha, Procedural Clerk.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 106(2), the Clerk of the Subcommittee presided over the election of a Chair.
 

On motion of Rick Norlock, it was agreed, — That Gord Brown be elected Chair of the Subcommittee.

 

Dave MacKenzie moved, — That Tom Wappel be elected First Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee.

 

By unanimous consent, the motion was withdrawn.

 

On motion of Tom Wappel, it was agreed, — That Roy Cullen be elected First Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee.

 

On motion of Tom Wappel, it was agreed, — That Serge Ménard be elected Second Vice-Chair of the Subcommittee.

 

Gord Brown took the Chair.

 

At 11:06 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 11:07 a.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 
Pursuant to the motion adopted by the Standing Committee on Public Safety and National Security May 29, 2006, the Subcommittee resumed its study of the Review of the Anti-terrorism Act (2001).
 

The Subcommittee gave drafting instructions to the analyst for a report.

 

At 12:41 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
