The Standing Committee on Natural Resources met at 3:32 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Lee Richardson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Mike Allen, Catherine Bell, Claude DeBellefeuille, Jacques Gourde, Christian Ouellet, Lee Richardson, Lloyd St. Amand, Alan Tonks and Bradley R. Trost.

 

Acting Members present: Dennis Bevington for Catherine Bell.

 

Associate Members present: Maurice Vellacott.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Jean-Luc Bourdages, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Natural Resources: Carol Buckley, Director General, Office of Energy Efficiency; Tom Wallace, Director General, Electricity Resources Branch, Energy Policy Sector. Canadian Gas Association: Michael Cleland, President and Chief Executive Officer. Canadian Electricity Association: Hans Konow, President and Chief Executive Officer.

 

Participants present: Department of Natural Resources: Graham Campbell, Director General.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

On motion of Lloyd St. Amand, it was agreed, — That the proposed operational budget in the amount of $ 26,800, on the study of the Greening of electricity consumption in Canada, for the period of April to June 2007, be adopted.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, March 28, 2007, the Committee resumed its study of Greening of Electricity Consumption in Canada.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:31 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
