The Standing Committee on National Defence met in camera at 9:07 a.m. this day, in Room 362, East Block, the Chair, Rick Casson, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Claude Bachand, Dawn Black, Robert Bouchard, Rick Casson, Hon. Denis Coderre, Cheryl Gallant, Laurie Hawn, Russ Hiebert, Hon. Keith Martin and Hon. Joe McGuire.

 

Acting Members present: Dean Del Mastro for Steven Blaney.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Wolf Koerner, Analyst.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on May 16, 2006, the Committee resumed its study of Canadian Forces in Afghanistan.
 

The Committee resumed consideration of a draft report.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee adopt the draft report as the Committee’s report, and that the Chair present the said report to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair be authorized to make such typographical and editorial changes as may be necessary without changing the substance of the Report.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 109, the Committee request that the government table a comprehensive response to the report.

 

It was agreed, — That 350 copies of the report be printed in accordance with the policy established by the Board of Internal Economy in a tumble bilingual format.

 

It was agreed, — That, pursuant to Standing Order 108(1)(a), the Committee authorize the printing of opinions or recommendations, dissenting from or supplementary to the report, in an appendix immediately following the signature of the Chair.

 

It was agreed, — That any opinion or recommendation to be printed in an appendix to the report be received by the Clerk not later than noon, Wednesday, June 13, 2007.

 

At 10:01 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
