The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 6:02 p.m. this day, in the Trillium A, Holiday Inn Select Toronto Airport, Toronto, Ontario, the Chair, James Rajotte, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Colin Carrie, Paul Crête, Brian Masse, Hon. Dan McTeague, James Rajotte, Bev Shipley, Dave Van Kesteren and Robert Vincent.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Lalita Acharya, Analyst; Dan Shaw, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Toronto Board of Trade: Jonathan Barry, Senior Member, Economic Development Committee, Vice-President, Entreprise and Bell Canada; David Black, Policy Advisor. Mancor Industries: Art Church, President and Chief Executive Officer. Port Credit Secondary School: Jan Courtin, Principal; Jean-François Michaud, Head of Business & Technology Department. Edson Packaging Machinery Ltd.: Robert Hattin, President. Superior Tire and Auto: Paul Hyatt, President. Tempress Ltd: Bill McLean, President. Celestica: John Sloan, Vice-President, Operations planning.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of Challenges Facing the Canadian Manufacturing Sector.
