The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 208, West Block, the Chair, Dean Allison, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, France Bonsant, Patrick Brown, Hon. Michael D. Chong, Yves Lessard, Gary Merasty, Michael Savage, Mario Silva and Lynne Yelich.

 

Acting Members present: Raymonde Folco for Ruby Dhalla and Denise Savoie for Tony Martin.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Kevin Kerr, Analyst; Chantal Collin, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the following 8th Report of the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure be concurred in.

That the following calendar replaces the one adopted on June 4 by the Committee:

June and September: examination of the draft report on the Employability in Canada study;

Autumn: prosperity gap and private members bills;

In September, that a subcommittee be struck to study the order of reference sent by the House regarding the Canada Pension Plan Disability Benefit;

That this subcommittee be composed of five members of which two shall be government members and three shall be opposition members, to be named after the usual consultations;

That the subcommittee be granted all the powers of the Committee pursuant to Standing Order 108(1);

That the subcommittee presents its final report to the Committee no later than November 15.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Thursday, May 11, 2006, the Committee resumed its study of Employability in Canada.
 

The Committee studied a draft of report.

 

At 5:34 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
