The Standing Committee on Finance met in a televised session at 11:04 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Brian Pallister, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Diane Ablonczy, Paul Crête, Dean Del Mastro, Rick Dykstra, Hon. John McCallum, Hon. John McKay, Massimo Pacetti, Brian Pallister, Thierry St-Cyr, Hon. Robert Thibault, Mike Wallace and Judy Wasylycia-Leis.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Alexandre Laurin, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Department of Finance: Barbara Anderson, Assistant Deputy Minister, Federal-Provincial Relations and Social Policy Branch; Mark Carney, Senior Associate Deputy Minister; Brian Ernewein, General Director, Tax Legislation Division, Tax Policy Branch; Paul Rochon, General Director, Economic and Fiscal Policy Branch; Coleen Volk, Assistant Deputy Minister, Corporate Services Branch.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2007-2008: Votes 1, 5 and L10 under FINANCE - Part III - Report on Plans and Priorities referred to the Committee on Tuesday, February 27, 2007.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 
At 12:35 p.m., pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee resumed consideration of the Main Estimates 2007-2008: Vote 1 under CANADA REVENUE AGENCY; Vote 20 under CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL TRADE TRIBUNAL: Vote 25 under FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS AND REPORTS ANALYSIS CENTRE OF CANADA; Vote 30 under OFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS; Votes 1, 5 and L10 under FINANCE referred to the Committee on Tuesday, February 27, 2007.
 

It was agreed on division, — That Vote 25 under FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS AND REPORTS ANALYSIS CENTRE OF CANADA carry.

 

It was agreed on division, — That Vote 1 under CANADA REVENUE AGENCY carry.

 

It was agreed on division, — That Votes 1,5 and L10 under DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE carry.

 

It was agreed on division, — That Vote 20 under CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL TRADE TRIBUNAL carry.

 

It was agreed on division, — That Vote 30 under the OFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS carry.

 

It was agreed on division, — That the Chair report Vote 1, under CANADA REVENUE AGENCY, Votes 1, 5, and L10 under DEPARTMENT OF FINANCE, Vote 20 under CANADIAN INTERNATIONAL TRADE TRIBUNAL, Vote 25 under FINANCIAL TRANSACTIONS AND REPORTS ANALYSIS CENTRE OF CANADA and Vote 30 under the OFFICE OF THE SUPERINTENDENT OF FINANCIAL INSTITUTIONS, less the amount voted in Interim Supply, to the House.
