The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 371 West Block, the Vice-Chair, Mark Holland, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, Gary Carr, Brian Fitzpatrick, Sébastien Gagnon, Mark Holland and Hon. Walt Lastewka.

 

Acting Members present: Rob Anders for Daryl Kramp, Joe Comartin for David Christopherson, Derek Lee for Borys Wrzesnewskyj and Louise Thibault for Benoît Sauvageau.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Brian O'Neal, Analyst; Marc-André Pigeon, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Office of the Auditor General of Canada: Sheila Fraser, Auditor General of Canada; John Wiersema, Deputy Auditor General; Richard Smith, Assistant Auditor General; Mary Clennett, Comptroller.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(4), the Committee commenced consideration of the Main Estimates 2004-2005: Vote 20 under FINANCE referred to the Committee on Friday, October 8, 2004.
 
Pursuant to Standing Order 81(5), the Committee commenced consideration of the Supplementary Estimates (A) 2004-2005: Vote 20a under FINANCE referred to the Committee on Thursday, November 4, 2004.
 

The Chair calls Votes 20 and 20a under FINANCE.

 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

Vote 20 under FINANCE carried.

 

ORDERED, — That the Chair report Vote 20, less the amounts voted in Interim Supply, under FINANCE to the House.

 

It was agreed, — That the Committee defer the vote on Vote 20a under FINANCE until such time as the Committee has heard from the President of the Treasury Board.

 

At 5:17 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
