The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 209 West Block, for the purpose of electing a Chair, pursuant to Standing Order 106(1).

 

Members of the Committee present: Dean Allison, David Christopherson, Brian Fitzpatrick, Sébastien Gagnon, Mark Holland, Daryl Kramp, Walt Lastewka, Shawn Murphy, Benoît Sauvageau, John Williams and Borys Wrzesnewskyj.

 

Acting Members present: Marc Godbout for Gary Carr.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Brian O'Neal, Analyst; Marc-André Pigeon, Analyst. House of Commons: Jeremy LeBlanc, Committee Clerk.

 
The Clerk of the Committee presided over the election of a Chair.
 

On motion of Brian Fitzpatrick, it was agreed, — That John Williams be elected Chair of the Committee.

 

On motion of Borys Wrzesnewskyj, it was agreed, — That Mark Holland be elected as Government Vice-Chair of the Committee.

 

On motion of Sébastien Gagnon, it was agreed, — That Benoît Sauvageau be elected as Opposition Vice-Chair of the Committee.

 

John Williams took the Chair.

 

On motion of Walt Lastewka, it was agreed, — That the Chair, the two Vice-Chairs, and a member of the other opposition party do compose the Subcommittee on Agenda and Procedure.

 

On motion of Borys Wrzesnewskyj, it was agreed, — That the Committee retain the services of one or more analysts from the Library of Parliament, as needed, to assist the Committee in its work, at the discretion of the Chair.

 

At 3:49 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
