The Standing Committee on Human Resources, Skills Development, Social Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in camera at 11:16 a.m. this day, in Room 705 La Promenade Building, the Chair, Raymonde Folco, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Peter Adams, Eleni Bakopanos, Jean-Claude D'Amours, Barry Devolin, Raymonde Folco, Paul Forseth and Christiane Gagnon.

 

Acting Members present: Yvon Godin for Tony Martin and Susan Kadis for Yasmin Ratansi.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Chantal Collin, Analyst; Kevin Kerr, Analyst.

 

Witnesses: Centre d'assistance et d'accompagnement aux plaintes: Luc Labbé, Director General; Claude Séguin. Les Oeuvres de la Maison Dauphine: Michel Boisvert, Director General; Pierre Dallaire, Funding Liaison Officer. Canadian Coalition of Community Based Employability Training: Nicole Galarneau, Co-Chair.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on February 24, 2005, the Committee resumed its study of the New Human Resources and Skills Development Canada call for proposals Criteria for Funding Community Programs.
 

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

 

At 12:48 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 12:51 p.m., the sitting resumed in camera.

 

It was agreed, — That the budget in the amount of $ 17,600 for the study regarding the new Human Resources and Skills Development Canada Call for proposals Criteria for Funding Community Programs be adopted.

 

Pursuant to the 48 hour notice requirement, the following motion was tabled: « That the Minister of Human Resources and Skills Development Canada guarantee in writing that no witnesses suffer recrimination, i.e. job loss or agency funding, because of testimony before this Committee. »

 

At 1:21 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
