The Standing Committee on the Status of Women met at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 112-N, Centre Block, the Chair, Anita Neville, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Hon. Sarmite Bulte, Jean Crowder, Nina Grewal, Helena Guergis, Susan Kadis, Anita Neville, Russ Powers, Joy Smith, Hon. Paddy Torsney and Lynne Yelich.

 

Acting Members present: Nicole Demers for France Bonsant and Christiane Gagnon for Paule Brunelle.

 

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Julie Cool, Analyst; Lydia Scratch, Analyst.

 
The Committee proceeded to the consideration of matters related to Committee business.
 

It was agreed, — That the Committee resume its ongoing study on Parental Benefits for Self-Employed Workers.

 

It was agreed, — That the Ministers responsible for the Status of Women, Treasury Board, Finance, as well as the Clerk of the Privy Council Office, and their senior officials, be invited to appear before the Committee with respect to the government’s response to the Committee’s report entitled Gender-Based Analysis: Building Blocks for Success.

 

It was agreed, — That the Chair consult the Chair of the Standing Committee on Aboriginal Affairs and Northern Development concerning a possible joint meeting with that Committee upon receipt of the government response to their report entitled Walking Arm-in-Arm to Resolve the Issue of On-Reserve Matrimonial Real Property.

 

At 4:30 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
