The Standing Committee on Citizenship and Immigration met at 1:55 p.m. this day, in the Salon B/C, Delta Bow Valley, Calgary, Alberta, the Chair, Andrew Telegdi, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Diane Ablonczy, Hon. David A. Anderson, Roger Clavet, Bill Siksay, Andrew Telegdi and Lui Temelkovski.

Acting Members present: Nina Grewal for Rahim Jaffer .

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Benjamin Dolin, Analyst.

Witnesses: Visible Minority & Labour Relations Board: Muhammad Rasheed; Vinay Dey. Pakistan Canada Association of Calgary: Masood Parvez, President. Canadian Council for Human Resources in the Environment Industry: Sandy High. Calgary Chamber of Commerce: Jocelyne Burgener. Calgary Catholic Immigration Society: Rob Bray. As an Individual: Jude Udedibia, Nigerian-Canadian Association. City of Calgary: Joe Ceci, Alderman, Calgary City Council. Ethno-Cultural Council of Calgary: V. Nallainayagam; Ramesh Joshi; Teresa Woo-Paw, Chair.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2) and the motion adopted by the Committee on Wednesday, October 27, 2004, the Committee resumed its study of Recognition of the International Experience and Credentials of Immigrants.

Panel I. Foreign Credentials

Muhammad Rasheed, Sandy Hith, Jocelyne Burgener and Bob Bray made statements and, with Vinay Dey and Masood Parvez answered questions.

At 3:27 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 3:35 p.m., the sitting resumed.

Panel II.

Jude Udebibia, Joe Ceci and V. Nallainayagam made statements and, with Ramesh Joshi, Teresa Woo-Paw and Muhammad Rasheed answered questions.

At 4:54 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
