The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 9:04 a.m. this day, in the Regal Ballroom, Crowne Plaza Vancouver Hotel Georgia, Vancouver, British Columbia, the Chair, Marlene Catterall, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sarmite Bulte, Marlene Catterall, Marc Lemay, Gary Schellenberger and Mario Silva.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: Joseph Jackson, Senior Analyst ; Sam Banks, Analyst.

Witnesses: As Individuals: Zoe Druick, Assistant Professeur, Simon Fraser University, School of Communication; Catherine Murray, Associate Professor, Simon Fraser University, School of Communication; Bart Beaty, Assistant Professor, Faculty of Communication and Culture, University of Calgary. Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists: Brian Gromoff, National President, ACTRA - Calgary. International Alliance of Theatrical Stage Employees, Moving Picture Technicians, Artists and Allied Crafts of the United States, its Territories and Canada: Don Ramsden, President, Vancouver. ACTRA - Toronto Performers: Ken Thompson, Director.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of Canadian Feature Film Industry.

Zoe Druick, Catherine Murray and Bart Beaty made statements and answered questions.

At 10:36 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:51 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Brian Gromoff and Don Ramsden made statements and with Ken Thompson answered questions.

At 12:01 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
