The Standing Committee on Canadian Heritage met at 2:35 p.m. this day, in the Perigrine Room, Radisson Hotel Winnipeg Downtown, Winnipeg, Manitoba, the Chair, Marlene Catterall, presiding.

 

Members of the Committee present: Charlie Angus, Gord Brown, Sarmite Bulte, Marlene Catterall, Maka Kotto, Bev Oda, Gary Schellenberger and Mario Silva.

 

In attendance: As Individual: David Black, Consultant.

 

Witnesses: Alliance of Canadian Cinema, Television and Radio Artists: Wendy Anderson, National Councilor, Saskatchewan; Michael Burns, Branch Representative, Saskatchewan; Claude Dorge, Member; Rob Macklin, Member, Manitoba. National Screen Institute : Susan Millican, Chief Executive Officer; Marci Elliott, Senior Director, Marketing and Development. Alberta Motion Picture Industries Association: Shirley Vercruysse; George Baptist.

 
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed its study of Canadian Feature Film Industry.
 

Michael Burns and Wendy Anderson made statements and answered questions.

 

At 4:00 p.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 4:11 p.m., the sitting resumed.

 

Claude Dorge made an opening statement and with Rob Macklin answered questions.

 

Susan Millican made an opening statement and with Marci Elliott answered questions.

 

Shirley Vercruysse and George Baptist made statements and answered questions.

 

At 5:36 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
