Meeting No. 3

Wednesday, February 26, 2003

The Subcommittee on Veterans Affairs of the Standing Committee on National Defence and Veterans Affairs met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Bob Wood, presiding.

Members of the Subcommittee present: Roy Bailey, Ivan Grose, Louis Plamondon, Carmen Provenzano, Rose-Marie Ur, Elsie Wayne, Bob Wood.

In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Michel Rossignol, Research Officer.

Appearing: The Honourable Rey Pagtakhan, Minister of Veterans Affairs.

Witnesses: From the Department of Veterans Affairs: Larry Murray, Deputy Minister; Brian Ferguson, Assistant Deputy Minister, Veterans Services; Michaela Huard, Director General - Policy Coordination and Ottawa Headquarters; Darragh Mogan, Director General - Program and Service Policy Division.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Subcommittee resumed consideration of its study on Long-Term Care for Veterans.

The Minister made an opening statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 5:03 p.m., the Subcommittee proceeded in camera.

It was agreed, ― That, in relation to its study on Long-Term Care for Veterans, the revised operational budget in the amount of $15,605. be adopted.

At 5:12 p.m., the Subcommittee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
