The Standing Committee on Public Accounts met in a televised session at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Vice-Chair, Beth Phinney, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Odina Desrochers, Paul Forseth, Roger Gaudet, Mac Harb, Steve Mahoney, Pat Martin, Philip Mayfield, Val Meredith, Beth Phinney and Tony Tirabassi.
In attendance: From the Parliamentary Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Brian O'Neal and Jean Dupuis, Analysts.
Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General: Richard Flageole, Assistant Auditor General; Reno Cyr, Principal. From the Canadian Space Agency: Marc Garneau, President; Pierre Richard, Senior Vice-President; Jacques Bruneau, Senior Financial Officer and Director, Corporate Management.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(e), the Committee commenced consideration of Chapter 7 (Canadian Space Agency - Implementing the Canadian Space Program) of the December 2002 Report of the Auditor General of Canada.
Richard Flageole and Marc Garneau made statements and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.
At 5:16 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
