Meeting No. 7

Monday, February 3, 2003

The Standing Committee on Government Operations and Estimates met in a televised session at 11:05 a.m. this day, in Room 253-D, Centre Block, the Chair, Reg Alcock, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Reg Alcock, Roy Cullen, Ken Epp, Paul Forseth, Robert Lanctôt, Gerry Ritz, Judy Sgro, Paul Szabo and Tony Tirabassi.

In attendance: From the Library of parliament:  Jack Stilborn, Analyst; Philippe Le Goff, Analyst. From the Committees Directorate:  Lisa Chartier-Derouin, Co-clerk.

Witness: As an Individual: Sheldon Ehrenworth, Founder of the Public Policy Form, Executive Director, Driving Government to Excellence Project.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (1)(c), Future Business (Annual Report of the Privacy Commissioner)

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(3)(g), the Committee resumed its study on New Public Management and ICTs (Information and Communications Technologies) (See Minutes of Proceedings of Tuesday, January 28, 2003).

The witness made an opening statement and answered questions.

By unanimous consent, it was agreed, - That the Committee invite the Privacy Commissioner to appear at his earliest convenience to discuss his Annual Report for the year ended March 31, 2002, tabled in the House of Commons on January 29, 2003.

At 1:02 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
