The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:41 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: André Bachand, Larry Bagnell, Brian Fitzpatrick, Cheryl Gallant, Jocelyne Girard-Bujold, Walt Lastewka, Serge Marcil, Dan McTeague, Hon. Gilbert Normand, James Rajotte, Andy Savoy, Brent St. Denis and Joseph Volpe.
Other Member present: Lorne Nystrom.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Lalita Acharya and Dan Shaw, Research Officers.
Appearing: From the House of Commons: Hon. Andy Mitchell, Secretary of State (Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario); Hon. Claude Drouin, Secretary of State (Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec).
Witnesses: From the Federal Economic Development Initiative for Northern Ontario: Louise Paquette, Director General. From the Economic Development Agency of Canada for the Regions of Quebec: Marc Lafrenière, Deputy Minister; Suzanne Tining, Assistant Deputy Minister, Operations; Jocelyn Jacques, Assistant Deputy Minister, Policy, Planning and Information.
