The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 4:12 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Paul Crête, Jocelyne Girard-Bujold, Walt Lastewka, Serge Marcil, Dan McTeague, Hon. Gilbert Normand, James Rajotte, Andy Savoy and Brent St. Denis.
Acting Member present: Dave Chatters for Cheryl Gallant.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Research Officer.
Witnesses: From L'essence à juste prix:
Frédéric Quintal, Spokesperson. From the Association professionnelle des
chauffeurs de taxi du Québec: Roland Boulé, President, Estrie Region.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of the possible causes of the recent increase in the price of gasoline, and the significant negative effects that the increase is having on the economy, and can recommend appropriate corrective measures to the federal government.
Roland Boulé made an opening statement and answered questions.
Frédéric Quintal made an opening statement and answered questions.
At 5:33 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
