The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met in video-conference at 3:40 p.m. this day, in Room 701, La Promenade Building, the Chair, Judi Longfield, presiding.
Member(s) of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Norman Doyle, Judi Longfield, Gurbax Malhi, Raymond Simard, Monte Solberg and Diane St-Jacques.
Acting Members present: Sébastien Gagnon for Suzanne Tremblay.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Chantal Collin and Kevin Kerr, Research Officers.
Witnesses: From the Congress of Aboriginal Peoples: Alastair Macphee, Consultant. From the Federation of Saskatchewan Indian Nations: By videoconference from Regina: Danette Starr-Spaeth, Executive Director of the Education and Training Secretariat.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), ), the Committee resumed its study on Literacy.
The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.
At 4:35 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
