The Standing Committee on Finance met at 9:02 a.m. this day, in the Regency Ballroom, Radisson Plaza Hotel Saskatchewan, Regina, Saskatchewan, the Chair, Sue Barnes, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Roy Cullen, Sophia Leung and Maria Minna.

In attendance: Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Principal ; Blayne Haggart, Analyst.

Witnesses: Trans-Canada #1 West Association: Pat Fiacco, Mayor, City of Regina; Bruce C. Anderson, Manager. Saskatchewan Arts Alliance: Marnie Gladwell, Executive Director; Brenda Niskala, Treasurer, Executive Director, Saskatchewan Publishers Group. Saskatchewan Action Committee, Status of Women: Donna Shire, Chair; Tracy Stevens, Member of the Board. Pursuant to Standing Order 83(1), the Committee resumed its pre-budget consultations.

Panel I: Pat Fiacco, Marnie Gladwell, Brenda Niskala, Donna Shire, Dale Ripplinger and David Malcolm made a statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 10:35 a.m., the sitting was suspended.

At 10:42 a.m., the sitting resumed.

Panel II: Ron Cameron, Darrell Zwarych, Jim Tomkins, Rupert James, Norm Halldorson, Bruce Ruelling, Ralph Pilz and John Keen made a statement and answered questions.

At 12:10 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
