The Standing Committee on Finance met at 3:47 p.m. this day, in Room 308, West Block, the Chair, Sue Barnes, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Sue Barnes, Roy Cullen, Nick Discepola, Richard Harris, Sophia Leung, Hon. Maria Minna, Shawn Murphy, Pauline Picard, Gary Pillitteri, Bryon Wilfert.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Acting Principal Analyst; Blayne Haggart and Marc-André Pigeon, Analysts.
Witnesses: From the Office of the Auditor General of Canada: John Wiersema, Assistant Auditor General; Richard Smith, Principal. From the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada: Lynn MacFarlane, Deputy Director, Corporate Management; John Ossowski, Assistant Director, Government Relationships and Communications; Yvon Carrière, Senior Counsel.
Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), consideration of the April 2003 Report of the Auditor General of Canada, Chapter 3 - Canada's Strategy to Combat Money Laundering.
Lynn MacFarlane and John Wiersema made a statement and with Yvon Carrière and John Ossowski answered questions.
At 5:20 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
