The Standing Committee on Finance met at 9:03 a.m. this day, in Calgary at the Coast Plaza Hotel in Plaza 1 Room, the Vice-Chair, Nick Discepola, presiding.
Members of the Committee present: Roy Cullen, Nick Discepola, Richard Harris, Sophia Leung and Shawn Murphy.
In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: June Dewetering, Acting Principal. From the Committees Directorate: Jeffrey Leblanc, Committee Clerk.
Witnesses: From the Alberta Real Estate Association: Les Higa, President Elect; Janet Poyen, Manager Member Services. From the Canadian Mental Health Association: Bill Gaudette, President. From the Canadian Worker Co-operative Federation: Hazel Corcoran, Executive Director. From the Clean Air Renewable Energy Coalition: Marlie Burtt, Director, Tax, Suncor Energy Inc. Pursuant to Standing Order 83.1, the Committee continued its pre-budget discussions.
Les Higa, Janet Poyen, Bill Gaudette, Hazel Corcoran, Andrew Pape-Salmon, Marlie Burtt, Beverly Smith and Eric Cordeiro made opening statements and with the other witness, answered questions.
At 10:40 a.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 10:45 a.m., the sitting resumed.
