Meeting No. 26

Tuesday, June 10, 2003

The Standing Committee on Environment and Sustainable Development met in a televised session at 11:40 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Hon. Charles L. Caccia, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Bernard Bigras, Hon. Charles L. Caccia, Joe Comartin, Gary Lunn, Bob Mills, Julian Reed, Hélène Scherrer, Paul Szabo, Alan Tonks.

In attendance: From the Research Branch of the Library of Parliament: Kristen Douglas and Tim Williams, Analysts.

Witnesses: From the National Round Table on the Environment and the Economy: David J. McGuinty, President and Chief Executive Officer; Alex Wood, Policy Advisor, Ecological Fiscal Reform.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), implementation of Kyoto Protocol.

David J.McGuinty made an opening statement and, with the other witness, answered questions.

At 1:00 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
