Tuesday, February 4, 2003

The Legislative Committee on Bill C-17 met at 3:31 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Bob Kilger, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Sarkis Assadourian, Claude Bachand, Rex Barnes, Aileen Carroll, Bev Desjarlais, Marlene Jennings, Bob Kilger, Mario Laframboise, Derek Lee, Steve Mahoney, James Moore, John O'Reilly, Beth Phinney, Marcel Proulx.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: David R. Goetz, Margaret Young, Analysts.

Witnesses:  As individual:  Ken Rubin.  From the Canadian Bar Association: Simon V. Potter, President.

The Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-17, Public Safety Act 2002.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 5:09 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
