Tuesday, January 28, 2003

The Legislative Committee on Bill C-17 met at 3:36 p.m. this day, in Room 371, West Block, the Chair, Bob Kilger, presiding.

Members of the Committee present:  Sarkis Assadourian, Claude Bachand, Rex Barnes, Bev Desjarlais, Marlene Jennings, Bob Kilger, Gary Lunn, Steve Mahoney, James Moore, John O'Reilly, Beth Phinney, Andy Savoy.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament:  David R. Goetz, Margaret Young, Analysts.

Witnesses:  From the International Civil Liberties Monitoring Group: Gerry Barr, Co-Chair, Chief Executive Officer, Canadian Council for International Co-operation; Roch Tassé, Coordinator.  From the International Centre for Human Rights and Democratic Development: Jean-Louis Roy, President. 

The Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-17, Public Safety Act 2002.

The witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 5:01 p.m., Marlene Jennings took the Chair.

At 5:07 p.m., Bob Kilger resumed the Chair.

At 5:21 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
