Tuesday, March 18, 2003

The Legislative Committee on Bill C-17 met at 3:33 p.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Bob Kilger, presiding.

Member of the Committee present:  Claude Bachand, Rex Barnes, John Bryden, Marlene Jennings, Bob Kilger, Steve Mahoney, James Moore, John O'Reilly.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament:  Margaret Young, Analyst.

Witnesses: From the Financial Transactions and Reports Analysis Centre of Canada: John Ossowski, Assistant Director, Government Relationships and Communications; Denis Meunier, Assistant Director, Reporting Entity Relationships; Peter Bulatovic, Assistant Director, Terrorist Financing Analysis; Yvon Carrière, Senior Counsel.

The Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-17, Public Safety Act 2002.

John Ossowski made a statement and, with the witnesses, answered questions.

At 4:18 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
