MINUTES OF PROCEEDINGS

Meeting No. 3

Tuesday, February 27, 2001

The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met in camera at 4:05 p.m. this day, in Room 306, West Block, the Chair, Carolyn Parrish, presiding.

Members of the Sub-Committee present: Rick Borotsik, Garry Breitkreuz, Michel Guimond, Carolyn Parrish and Marcel Proulx.

Other Members present: John Bryden and Deborah Grey.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, research officer.

The Sub-Committee proceeded to consider the order of reference dated Thursday, February 15, 2001, from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs regarding possible amendments to Standing Order 87(6).

It was agreed, - that the Chair request from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs an expansion of its order of reference to consider related matters involving Private Members’ Business.

The Sub-Committee proceeded to consider and review its selection of votable items, which was adopted as the Second Report of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs.

It was agreed, - that no changes be recommended.

At 5:25 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned until Wednesday, March 14, 2001, at 3:30 p.m.
