The Sub-Committee on Private Members' Business of the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs met at 3:35 p.m. this day, in Room 307, West Block, the Chair, Carolyn Parrish, presiding.
Members of the Sub-Committee present: Rick Borotsik, Carolyn Parrish and Marcel Proulx.
Acting Members present: Madeleine Dalphond-Guiral for Michel Guimond; Grant McNally for Garry Breitkreuz; Lorne Nystrom for Bill Blaikie.
In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: James Robertson, research officer.
Witnesses: From the House of Commons: Chuck Cadman, Leon Benoit, Bev Desjarlais, Randy White, Gurmant Grewal, Chuck Strahl, Marlene Jennings, Peter MacKay, Stéphane Bergeron, Rick Casson, Charles Caccia, Jim Pankiw, Bernard Bigras, Rick Borotsik, Bill Blaikie and Deepak Obhrai.
Pursuant to the Order of Reference from the Standing Committee on Procedure and House Affairs adopted on Wednesday, February 7, 2001, the Sub-Committee proceeded to select votable items from bills and motions whose order of precedence has been established on Thursday, February 8, 2001.
The witnesses made a statement and answered questions.
At 5:40 p.m., the sitting was suspended.
At 5:45 p.m., the sitting resumed "In Camera".
At 6:15 p.m., the Sub-Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
