Wednesday, June 12, 2002

The Standing Committee on Industry, Science and Technology met at 3:30 p.m. this day, in Room 269, West Block, the Chair, Walt Lastewka, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Larry Bagnell, Stéphane Bergeron, Brian Fitzpatrick, Cheryl Gallant, Walt Lastewka, Serge Marcil, Dan McTeague, James Rajotte, Andy Savoy and Brent St. Denis.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Dan Shaw, Lalita Acharya and James McQueen, Research Officers.

Witnesses: From the Department of Industry: Robert Dunlop, Director General, Small Business Policy Branch; Peter Webber, Manager, Small Business Financing Policy.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108(2), the Committee resumed consideration of its study of Small and Medium-Sized Enterprise Financing Data:  Industry Canada Report (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, March 1, 2001, Meeting No. 2).

Robert Dunlop made an opening statement and, with the other witnesses, answered questions.

At 5:25 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
