The Standing Committee on Human Resources Development and the Status of Persons with Disabilities met at 11:03 a.m. this day, in Room 209, West Block, the Chair, Judi Longfield, presiding.

Member(s) of the Committee present: Eugène Bellemare, Paul Crête, Raymonde Folco, Monique Guay, Judi Longfield, Gurbax Malhi, Joe Peschisolido, Larry Spencer and Diane St-Jacques.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: Julie Mackenzie and Bill Young, Research Officers.

Witness(es): From the Library of Parliament: Richard Paré, Parliamentary Librarian. From the Centre for Collaborative Government: Donald G. Lenihan, Director. From the Statistics Canada: Doug Norris, Director General, Census and Demographic Statistics.

Pursuant to Standing Order 108 (2), discussion on "Measuring Quality of Life: The Use of Societal Outcomes by Parliamentarians"

The witnesses made opening statements and answered questions.

It was agreed, -- That the Report “Measuring Quality of Life: The Use of Societal Outcomes by Parliamentarians” be published as Appendice I in the record of the meeting.

At 12:51 p.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
