The Standing Committee on Foreign Affairs and International Trade met at 9:10 a.m. this day, in Room 237-C, Centre Block, the Chair, Bill Graham, presiding.

Members of the Committee present: Jean Augustine, Colleen Beaumier, Rick Casson, Bill Graham, Stan Keyes, Francine Lalonde, Diane Marleau, Pat O'Brien, Deepak Obhrai, Denis Paradis, Bernard Patry, Monte Solberg.

Other Members present: Joe Comartin; Dennis Mills.

In attendance: From the Library of Parliament: David Johansen.

Witnesses: From the University of Calgary: Prof. Nigel Bankes, Professor, Faculty of Law. From the Great Lakes United: John Jackson, Past-President and Chair Sustainable Water Task Force. As Individual: Tom Kierans, Professional Engineer. From OMYA Canada Inc.: Terry Denison, Counsel.

Pursuant to its Order of Reference of Tuesday, May 8, 2001, the Committee resumed consideration of Bill C-6, An Act to amend the International Boundary Waters Treaty Act (See Minutes of Proceedings, Thursday, May 10, 2001, Meeting No. 19).

Each of the witnesses made statements and answered questions.

At 10:55 a.m., the Committee adjourned to the call of the Chair.
