FIRST REPORT

PREMIER RAPPORT

In accordance with its Order of Reference from the House of Commons dated Tuesday, November 2, 1999, the Committee has considered Bill C-4, An Act to implement the Agreement among the Government of Canada, Governments of Member States of the European Space Agency, the Government of Japan, the Government of the Russian Federation, and the Government of the United States of America concerning Cooperation on the Civil International Space Station and to make related amendments to other Acts, and has agreed to report it with the following amendment:

Conformément à son Ordre de renvoi de la Chambre des communes du mardi 2 novembre 1999, le Comité a étudié le projet de loi C-4, Loi portant mise en oeuvre de l'Accord conclu entre le gouvernement du Canada, les gouvernements d'États membres de l'Agence spatiale européenne, le gouvernement du Japon, le gouvernement de la Fédération de Russie et le gouvernement des États-Unis d'Amérique sur la coopération relative à la Station spatiale internationale civile et apportant des modifications connexes à d'autres lois, et a convenu d'en faire rapport avec l'amendement suivant :

Replace line 4 on page 4 with the following:

Substituer à la ligne 4, page 4, de ce qui suit :

"amendment takes effect, and shall cause the amendment to be laid before Parliament on any of the first fifteen days that either House of Parliament is sitting after the order is made."

The Committee has ordered a reprint of Bill C-4, as amended, as a working copy for the use of the House of Commons, at report stage.

Le Comité a ordonné la réimpression du projet de loi C-4, tel que modifié, pour servir de document de travail à la Chambre des communes à l'étape du rapport.

A copy of the relevant Minutes of Proceedings (Meeting No. 4 of the 2nd Session of the 36^th Parliament) is tabled.
